Why we started Luma
Luma began after an ICU stay that left one of our team members in awe of the nurses who cared for them. Each nurses’ skill, patience, and empathy left a lasting mark, but so did seeing how much of their time is stolen by systems that don’t serve them. That experience made something clear: nurses deserve tools that help them just as much as they help their patients.
Luma is our way of giving back: a small “thank you” to the nurses who give us so much.
Who we are
We’re a small team of healthcare and technology experts who’ve spent decades building tools for clinicians and hospitals. We’re engineers, builders, parents, and patients. We’ve seen firsthand how much administrative tasks, like tracking licensing requirements and credentials, can cause unnecessary stress for care providers.
